Soccer camps and clinics are the shortest and most important ways to get acquainted with the sport. They are a good starting
place for beginners and excellent way to improve techniques and endurance for young people that have already played in the sport. This camp will be the principle means of recruiting new players for the soccer academy that was established by GFC Frankfort in Frankfort Kentucky 5 years ago.
Experienced coaches teach the proper way to play soccer; rules of the game, pre-warming and physical conditioning activities to avoid injuries.
Important drills are shown in the camp for each player to later practice at home and fully grasp the technique to be used during real games. Small group of players are used as camp practice.
Goals
After the duration of the camp, the participant should be able to:
*Discuss field geometry and dimensions. *Discuss various schematics used in soccer. *know the basic rules of the game. *Verbalize player positions and the responsibilities of those positions.
*Demonstrate basic techniques of soccer. *Demonstrate moral and respectful behavior towards referees, coaches, fellow team mates and opponents.
By the end of the camp, each participant will receive a certificate of completion by Kiwanis Frankfort.
